David Jana leads MVC after 26 years of banking and corporate experience at top financial and non-financial companies operating in Latin America. Up to July 2014, David Jana was the Regional Executive of the Southern Cone Countries – Latin America, for Bank of America Merrill Lynch (“BAML”).
Prior to being with BAML, from 2003 to 2010 David Jana was the Chief Financial Officer of Empresa Nacional del Petroleo – ENAP, Chile’s Oil & Gas company, and the Senior Country Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Calyon in Brasil, the investment banking arm of the Credit Agricole Group.
Before ENAP and Calyon, from 1993 to 2002, David Jana held several senior positions at BankBoston N.A., first in Santiago, then in Boston, USA, as Head of Investment Banking for several countries in Latin America, and finally in Sao Paulo where he was Director of Corporate Finance, where he was deeply involved in financing and advisory throughout Brazil’s privatization process.
From 1988 to 1992, David Jana held several positions at The Chase Manhattan Bank at the investment banking, capital markets and the treasury group.
In addition to his executive experience, David Jana has a wide experience serving and advising Boards. He is a Latam senior advisor for IFM Investors, Australia, one of the world’s largest infrastructure asset managers. He is also a board member of Pacific Hydro, an energy renewables company based in Australia with assets also in Chile and Brazil, fully owned by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), a Chinese corporation. David is member of the board of Fenix Power, Peru´s largest thermoelectric power plant. In addition, he is a board member of Tinguiririca Energía, which is a JV between Pacific Hydro and Statkraft from Norway as well as board member of Korkia Solar, a JV in solar power between Korkia (Finland) and Moonvalley Capital.
Previously, he has been advisor of the Board at ENAP, and Board Member of Empresas de Correos de Chile, Enap Refinerias, Enap Sipetrol, Sonacol, Norgas and Fama Private Equity, a Brazilian private equity firm.
David Jana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Martin joined Moonvalley Capital at the beginning of 2015, where he started as an M&A and Private Equity Analyst, later he became associate in 2016, Vice President in 2019 and Partner in 2020. During this period, he has led several M&A transactions, Turnaround & Restructuring processes, Debt Raisings and Valuations. Some selected transactions that Martin has led over his career are; advised IXOM in the sale of its LatAm operations (Chile, Peru, Colombia, Brazil & Argentina) to Grupo Pochteca – Mexico, advised the shareholders of Valle Nevado and Multitiendas Corona in their respective Restructuring Processes, MVC’s support to an expert report for EGP Americas in the context of the merger between Enel Americas and Enel Green Power in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama.
He has also been involved in the growth of Moonvalley’s Asset Management arm, where he has structured the first two renewable energy investment funds, Korkia Solar Chile a solar PMGD development platform and the JV with Nala Renewables and Korkia Finland to own and operate 110 MW of solar PMGD assets. Martin also led the creation of Moonvalley Ventures, the VC investment platform of the company, were he closed the first transaction in 2021 of a Foddtech software called PopApp.
Martin is currently a board member of Sociedad Inmobiliaria San Cristina, a real estate development company, as well as a board member of PopApp Tally, a Foodtech startup, where he represents Moonvalley’s investors interest. He also did an internship in September 2019 with IFM Investors in the New York office.
Before joining Moonvalley Capital, Martin did an internship at BTG Pactual as a Financial Analyst in the local fixed income trading desk, where he analyzed some of the main bond issuer companies of the local market.
Martín holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Germán de Pablo is a Vice President at Moonvalley Capital.
He joined the firm in February 2023. Prior to joining Moonvalley Capital, Germán had a successful career primarily at J.P. Morgan Chile, as an Equity Research & Strategy Analyst and Investment Banking Analyst. Prior to that he was an Investment Banking Analyst at Banco Bice.
Germán holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the Pontifícia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Juan Pablo is an M&A and Private Equity Senior Analyst at Moonvalley Capital. He joined the firm in December 2021.
Prior to joining Moonvalley Capital, he did internships at Toesca Asset Management and MFO Advisors as an investment analyst.
Juan Pablo holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Entrepreneurial Studies from Hobart College, New York, USA.
Félix is an M&A and Private Equity Senior Analyst at Moonvalley Capital. He joined the firm in March 2022.
Prior to joining Moonvalley Capital, he did an internship at MFO Advisors in Alternative Investments and in Moonvalley Capital as Junior Analyst.
Félix holds a bachelor's degree in Business and Administration from Universidad de Chile
Milton Castiel has over twenty-five years of Credit Risk Management experience in Latin America and the Emerging Markets. Prior to MVC he was a Director and Team Head at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Brazil (2009/2010) where he partnered with Corporate and Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Sales and Trading and Treasury Management, to drive revenue growth while managing risk.
From 1998 to 2009, Milton was Head of Credit Risk for Merrill Lynch Brazil where he was responsible for coverage of banks, corporates, domestic and offshore funds, and local exchange. In his eighteen years with Merrill Lynch, Milton worked in various roles/assignments in New York, Hong Kong, and São Paulo.
Milton completed his one-year credit training at The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York and worked as Brazil Desk Officer for institutional clients from 1985 to 1991.
John Lin has more 25 years of professional experience with solid results in FMCG (cosmetics, personal care, food, and beverage and pharmaceutical) and Management Consultant industries, as well as an entrepreneurial experience in private equity and broad international experience.
John started his successful career in P&G Brazil, Latam and Asia where he holds positions of increasing responsibilities, later he worked with Andersen Consulting/Accenture serving companies like ABInBev, Novartis and Accor amongst others. Later on, he worked as a managing director of Fama Private Equity, Brazilian PE focused on mid local companies.
From 2012 to 2019 he worked in China again, first as CEO of Avon China and then with his own consulting firm, serving clients like BRF, Morbark, Kirby and XNode, helping with market entry strategy, corporate innovation, and startup acceleration programs. Since Feb/2019 he is the Chief Commercial Officer of Citrosuco S/A, one of the largest global orange juice vertical producers, being responsible for sales, marketing, R&D, innovation, and business transformation. Among its priorities is the development of the Asian market, especially China.
John also served on the Board of Directors of Brookfield Residential Properties and as member of the Advisory Board of Arizona (a leading Brazilian digital pre and post-media services) and Dermage (a leading Brazilian skin care brand).
Rain is a Senior Associate at Moonvalley Capital. She joined the firm in October 2023.
Prior to joining Moonvalley Capital, she worked as Analyst at Credit Suisse’s Latin America Investment Banking and Capital Markets team with focus on cross-border M&A and DCM transactions, and as Analyst at EY’s Financial Modeling and Business Valuation Chile team. Rain holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and a MSc Finance from the same University.
Ignacia is an M&A and Private Equity Analyst. She joined the firm in July 2023.
Prior to joining Moonvalley Capital, she worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as a Project Finance analyst. Prior to that, she worked as a Private Equity analyst at Equitas Capital.
Before that, she did an internship in BTG Pactual and Havas Media Group.
Ignacia holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration from Universidad de Chile
Gladys is our Office and Business Support Manager, she joined the firm in July 2022.
She has more than 25 years of experience as a high-level Executive Assistant and Office Manager.
